Purdue's Football Program Has Another Hall Of Fame Quarterback

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Former Purdue Quarterback Mark Herrmann was one of 14 players and coaches elected to the College Football Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Herrmann is the twelfth former Boilermaker to reach the hall of fame and the third former quarterback, joining Bob Griese and Mike Phipps.

Herrmann was an all-state quarterback at Carmel High School and played at Purdue from 1977 through 1980.

He led the Boilers to bowl games in each of his four seasons was the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player in 1980.

He held nine NCAA records at the time he completed his college career, including the marks for career passing yards and career completions.
