Moore, Johnson And Hayward Declare For NBA Draft

Last updated on Thursday, April 15, 2010

(UNDATED) - Purdue University announced Wednesday that junior basketball players E’Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson will enter the 2010 NBA draft.

Both players will not hire agents and will maintain eligibility for their senior seasons if they withdraw from the draft by the May eighth deadline.

Moore was Purdue's most valuable player and led the team in scoring and assists this past season.

He has led the Boilermakers in scoring all three seasons he has been in West Lafayette.

Johnson was Purdue's leading rebounder and third-leading scorer last season.

He ranks second on the boilers' all-time list for blocked shots.

The Purdue duo aren't the only ones looking to explore a pro career.

Butler University forward Gordon Hayward will also declare his availability for the June 24th NBA draft.

Hayward released a statement through the school saying he is exploring his options in the NBA and that he will not hire an agent, allowing him to return to the university should he withdraw by the May eighth deadline.

The sophomore out of Brownsburg was the Horizon League's most valuable player this past season and was a key figure in the Bulldogs' march to the championship game of the NCAA Tournament earlier this month.

He was named the most outstanding player of the West Regional during the tournament and was a member of the Final Four all-tournament team.
