Indians Avoid Sweep Thanks To Talbot's Strong Outing

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) - Mitch Talbot pitched six solid innings with Andy Marte providing some offense as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Minnesota Twins 8-1, avoiding a three-game series sweep.

Talbot lasted six innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits to improve to 2-1.

Marte hit a two-run homer, his first of the season, and drove in three runs with Russell Branyan finishing with a pair of runs batted in as the Indians picked up their first win at Target Field.

Scott Baker allowed six runs on ten hits over five and two-thirds innings of work to take the loss, falling to 2-2.
