Last updated on Thursday, April 15, 2010

(MIAMI GARDENS, FL) - The Cincinnati Reds saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as they fell to the Florida Marlins 5-3.

John Baker had a pair of RBI singles with Brett Carroll and Jorge Cantu adding solo homers for the Marlins.

Cantu set a major league record as he has had a hit and an RBI in all nine of Florida's games this season, the most consecutive games with a hit and a run batted in to begin a season.

Jonny Gomes had an RBI single in the fourth for Cincinnati with Paul Janish ending Chris Volstad's night with a two-run blast in the seventh.

Volstad would get the win for Florida, improving to 1-1.

Homer Bailey took the loss for the Reds as he falls to 0-1.

The Marlins will try to earn a split as the four-game series winds up tonight at Sun Life Stadium.
