Brewers Beat Cards On McGehee's Walk Off Home Run

Last updated on Monday, April 12, 2010

(MILWAUKEE, WI) - The St. Louis Cardinals scored three runs in the top of the ninth to tie Milwaukee, but the Brewers got a walk-off solo home run from Casey McGehee to edge the Redbirds 8-7 at Miller Park.

The Brewers entered the final inning with a 7-4 lead when Albert Pujols hit his second two-run home run of the night, a two-run blast off closer Trevor Hoffman.

Matt Holliday followed by hammering a solo shot off Hoffman to center field to tie the game.

McGehee got the all-time leader in saves off the hook when he hit a one-out homer off St. Louis reliever Kyle McClellan as the brewers avoided being swept in the three-game series.
