(VALPARAISO, IN) - The Valparaiso Crusaders’ season came to an end with an 89-82 loss to the Detroit Titans in the first round of the Horizon League men’s basketball tournament.
Chase Simon led the Titans with 24 points with Indiana University transfer Eli Holman finishing with 21 points and 15 rebounds as Detroit won its fifth game in a row.
Cory Johnson led Valpo with 24 points with Brandon Wood adding 23 points and Brandon McPherson scoring eleven as the Crusaders lose their final three games.
Detroit improves to 19-13 as they advance to the Horizon League quarterfinals where they will play Wisconsin-Green Bay Friday night in Indianapolis.
Valparaiso finishes the season with a 15-17 record.
