(ST. PETERSBURG, FL) - Will Power held off a late charge by Justin Wilson to make it two-for-two in the Izod Indycar series this season, winning Monday's race through the streets of St. Petersburg.
The 29-year-old Australian backed up his season-opening win in Brazil by beating Wilson to pick up his third career win in the series.
Power's Penske Racing teammates, Ryan Briscoe and Helio Castroneves, finished third and fourth, respectively with Dario Franchitti overcoming an early spin to claim fifth place.
With the win, Power takes a commanding 44-point lead in the championship standings over Wilson, Franchitti and Ryan Hunter-Reay heading to the April 11th race at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.
