Peyton Manning Undergoes Neck Surgery

Last updated on Thursday, March 4, 2010

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning underwent a procedure Tuesday in Chicago to relieve pain caused by a pinched nerve in his neck.

Manning was hospitalized in Chicago overnight before returning home on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Colts say that the neck problem has bothered Manning intermittently over the past four years but did not interfere with his training, practice or playing regimen.

The statement went on to say that Manning expects to participate in the Colts' offseason program this spring.

The four-time league MVP has been one of the most durable quarterbacks in NFL history, starting the first 192 games of his career.
