Butler Opens Tournament Play Today In San Jose

(SAN JOSE, CA) - The Butler Bulldogs take on the Texas-El Paso Miners in a first-round NCAA Tournament game late this afternoon in San Jose.

The Bulldogs are champions of the Horizon League and enter "The Big Dance" riding the nation's longest winning streak at 20 games.

They are 28-4 overall. UTEP enters the tournament at 26-6 and are the regular-season champions of Conference USA.

They were upset by Houston in the championship game of the conference tournament.

This afternoon's game is the first meeting between Butler and UTEP in men's basketball.
