Purdue's Hummel Out For Season With Torn ACL

Last updated on Friday, February 26, 2010

(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The third-ranked Purdue Boilermakers will be without junior forward Robbie Hummel for the remainder of the season.

Hummel tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Boiler's 59-58 win at Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Hummel's knee buckled as he drove to the lane at the 7:11 mark of the first half against the Golden Gophers.

An MRI on Thursday revealed the ACL tear.

The Indiana all-star out of Valparaiso was averaging 16 points, seven rebound and two assists per game and was on the watch lists for some national player of the year awards.
