(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) - The field is set for Sunday's Daytona 500. Mark Martin claimed the pole in qualifying on Saturday with teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. starting on the outside of row one.

The remaining 41 starting positions were determined by Thursday's Gatorade Duel 150-mile races on Thursday afternoon.

Michael McDowell and Max Papis were the top two finishers among drivers who were not already guaranteed spots in the field in the first duel and earned starting spots in Sunday's race.

Mike Bliss and Scott Speed were the two drivers to earn berths in the Daytona 500 field in the second duel.

Bill Elliott, Joe Nemechek and Michael Waltrip made the field based on Saturday's qualifying speeds while Bobby Labonte will take a past champions provisional.

The top 35 cars in owners points from last season were guaranteed spots on the starting grid for Sunday's "Great American Race".
