(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Roy Hibbert scored a career-high 26 points as the Indiana Pacers rebounded from their worst defeat in more than two decades to defeat the Orlando Magic 97-90 at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The Pacers needed the big effort from their second-year center as they were shorthanded again on the front line with Troy Murphy, Tyler Hansbrough and Jeff Foster out again due to injury.
Luther Head added 18 points and Dahntay Jones finished with 13 as Indiana improves to 11-23.
The game remained close throughout with the blue and gold never trailing by more than two points and pulling out to a twelve-point advantage late in the fourth quarter before a late Orlando run brought the final margin back to seven.
Jameer Nelson and Mickael Pietrus led the magic with 16 points as the Pacers held down Orlando's stars Vince Carter and Dwight Howard.
Carter finished with just six points while Howard had eleven points and 15 boards as the defending Eastern Conference Champions fall to 24-10.
The win came on the heels of Indiana's 132-89 loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday night, the franchise's worst defeat since March of 1987.
The Pacers are off until Friday night when they open a two-game road trip in Minnesota.
