Hummel's Hot Start Not Enough As Boilers Fall To Buckeyes

(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The Purdue Boilermakers could not hold onto a 13-point lead in the second half as they fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes 70-66 at Mackey Arena.

Robbie Hummel dominated the first half, scoring 29 of his career-high 35 points as the sixth-ranked Boilers raced out to a 41-29 edge at halftime.

They led 58-45 on E'Twaun Moore's lay in with 7:28 remaining when the Buckeyes caught fire.

Evan Turner led the charge for Ohio State in the second half, scoring 23 of his career-high 32 over the final 20 minutes.

The Buckeyes finished the comeback by outscoring Purdue 16-4 over the final four minutes of the game.

William Buford added 19 points for Ohio State as the Buckeyes improve to 12-5, 2-3 in the Big Ten.

Moore finished with 19 points as Purdue lost its second game in a row to fall to 14-2, 2-2 in the conference.

The Boilermakers are at Northwestern on Saturday.
