Butler Needs Overtime To Stay Unbeaten In Conference Play

(DETROIT, MI) - The Butler Bulldogs needed overtime to remain unbeaten in the Horizon League as they edged the Detroit Titans 64-62 in Detroit.

Gordon Hayward led the 24th-ranked Bulldogs with 17 points with Matt Howard, Willie Veasley and Shelvin Mack finishing with ten points apiece.

Mack's jumper with one minute left in overtime would give butler the lead and turned out to be the final points of the game.

Chase Simon led the Titans with 23 points with Indiana University transfer Xavier Keeling adding 14 as Detroit falls to 11-6, 4-2 in the Horizon.

Butler improves to 12-4, 5-0 in league play.

The Bulldogs are back home to face Cleveland State on Thursday night.
