Shoulder Injury Puts An End To Sorgi's Season

Last updated on Thursday, December 10, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts have placed veteran backup quarterback Jim Sorgi on injured reserve, ending his season.

Sorgi has been bothered by an injury to his right shoulder for almost a month.

He was inactive or listed as the team's third quarterback each of the past four games.

Purdue rookie Curtis Painter has served as Peyton Manning's backup since the November 15th game against New England.

To fill Sorgi's spot on the roster, the Colts have re-signed veteran offensive lineman Michael Toudouze.

Toudouze was a fifth-round selection of the Colts in 2006 and has spent time on the practice squad and the active roster during his three seasons with the team.
