(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts are taking a couple of days off before getting ready for Sunday afternoon’s game with the Denver Broncos at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Horseshoes improved to 12-0 with a 27-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
With the win, the colts have won 21-consecutive regular season games, tying the NFL record set by the New England Patriots from 2006 through 2008.
Indianapolis extended their league record by winning their twelfth game for the seventh-straight season.
The Broncos are 8-4 after knocking off the Chiefs 44-13 last Sunday in Kansas City.
Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell says that while going 16-0 is not a goal, he does not see any benefit in losing before the start of the playoffs.
Caldwell discussed several subjects during his weekly news conference on Monday, including whether he will rest his starters if the Horseshoes clinch home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
The NFL analyzed the tiebreaker scenarios and told the team that they would lock up the number-one seed with a victory over the Broncos this Sunday.
Caldwell did not disclose what the team's plans are once the top seed is clinched, saying that whatever decisions are made will be geared toward winning the Super Bowl.
