(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Matt Kemp homered and Randy Wolf worked out of a first-inning jam as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 in game one of their national league divisional series.

Wolf worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first, allowing an RBI single to Ryan Ludwick before ending the inning by getting a double-play grounder from Yadier Molina.

Kemp would put the Dodgers ahead to stay when he nailed a two-run shot off St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter.

After wolf left in the fourth, the Dodger Bullpen shut down the Cardinals, allowing a run on five hits over five and 1/3 innings.

Game two is early this evening with Clayton Kershaw starting for LA against the Redbirds' Adam Wainwright.
