(SANTA CLARA, CA) - It will be different looking San Francisco team that comes to Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend.
Quarterback Alex Smith will make his first start since 2007 Sunday in Indianapolis.
49ers Coach Mike Singletary announced that Smith will replace Shaun Hill as the starter this week.
Smith replaced hill at halftime of last Sunday's loss in Houston, throwing three touchdowns to tight end Vernon Davis.
The Colts and the 49ers have not played each other since 2005 with the Horseshoes winning 28-3 at Candlestick Park.
That game was Smith's first NFL start.
