(PHOENIX, AZ) - The WNBA Finals get underway tonight in Phoenix as the Mercury Host the Indiana Fever.
The Fever are in the finals for the first time in the ten-year history of the franchise, knocking off Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Mercury are going for their second WNBA Championship in three years after eliminating the Los Angeles Sparks in the Western Conference Finals.
The Fever and the Mercury split their two regular season games with each team winning on the other's home court.
Game two will be Thursday night in Phoenix.
