Colts Not Releasing Condition Of Wide Receiver

Last updated on Tuesday, September 15, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts have not released definitive word on the condition of wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, but team president Bill Polian says Gonzalez’ knee injury is not season-ending.

Polian made his comments during his weekly radio show. Multiple media outlets have reported that Gonzalez has a ligament sprain and could miss two to six weeks.

Neither Polian nor head coach Jim Caldwell would confirm a specific injury or the timetable for Gonzalez' return.

Polian did say that the Colts could bring in a veteran receiver if Gonzalez is out for a significant amount of time, but that veteran won't be Marvin Harrison.

Harrison, the franchise's all-time leading receiver, remains a free agent after being released in February.
