Braves Complete Three-Game Sweep Over Cardinals

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Atlanta Braves completed a three-game sweep in St. Louis with a 9-2 win over the Cardinals.

Javier Vazquez threw a complete game, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out eight to improve to 13 and 9.

Vazquez retired 17 batters in a row after yielding a lead off single to Skip Schumaker.

Adam Laroche hit a solo homer and drove in three to pace the Atlanta offense.

Chris Carpenter gave up seven runs on nine hits over six innings to take the loss, falling to 16 and 4.
