Royals Held On For 5-4 Victory Over Sox

(CHICAGO, IL) - Billy Butler hit a game-tying RBI double and Alberto Callaspo followed with a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning as the Kansas City Royals held on for a 5-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago got on the board in the first on a run-scoring single from AJ Pierzynski.

Butler tied the game with an RBI double in the top of the third before the Sox scored three times in the bottom of the inning on a solo homer from Paul Konerko and a two-run shot off the bat of Carlos Quentin.

John Buck drew the Royals to within a run with a two-run blast off White Sox starter Freddy Garcia in the fourth.

Gil Meche picked up the win for Kansas City with Garcia taking the loss.
