Last updated on Wednesday, August 26, 2009

(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Joey Votto and Jayson Nix hit solo home runs in the top of the thirteenth inning as the Cincinnati Reds survived blowing a big lead to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-6.

Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo left after seven innings holding a 6-1 lead.

Milwaukee responded by scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth, but could not get the game-winner home when Mike Cameron flew out to Darnell McDonald in left field with one out and the bases loaded.

Mcdonald threw Ryan Braun out at home on the play to end the inning.

Votto and Nix tagged former Red, Todd Coffee for their homers in the 13th.

It was the second home run of the game for Nix, who finished with three runs batted in.
