Fever Forward Named To Basketball Women's National Team

(COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) - Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings was one of eight players named to the 2009-2012 USA Basketball Women’s National Team.

The eight are expected to form the core of the team that will compete in the 2010 World Championships and, should the US Qualify, the 2012 Olympics in London.

Catchings is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalists as she helped the Americans win in Athens in 2004 and last summer in Beijing.

Joining catchings on the team are Seimone Augustus, Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles, Kara Lawson, Candace Parker, Cappie Pondexter and Diana Taurasi.
