Colts Return To Practice Field This Morning

Last updated on Monday, August 10, 2009

(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts return to the practice field this morning as training camp continues at Rose-Hulman Institute in Terre Haute.

The Colts start the week short at quarterback as longtime backup Jim Sorgi is expected to miss two to three weeks with a strained hamstring.

That leaves the horseshoes with just two quarterbacks on the roster, starter Peyton Manning and rookie Curtis Painter from Purdue.

Painter will get extra work in practice while the team is expected to sign a third quarterback.

One candidate is rookie Chris Crane from Boston College, who was waived by the Colts on the eve of training camp.

The Colts begin the preseason on Friday night when they host the Minnesota Vikings.
