(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Rick Ankiel hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2.

The Dodgers scored in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Casey Blake.

The Cardinals tied the game when Albert Pujols blasted his 39th homer of the season, a solo shot off LA starter Charlie Haeger.

James Loney gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the fifth, setting up Ankiel's game-winner.

Chris Carpenter improved to 13 and 3, allowing two runs on five hits over eight innings.

Haeger took the loss to fall to 0 and 1.

With the win, the Redbirds take a six-game lead over Chicago in the NL Central.
