Cardinals Blank Astros 1-0

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Adam Wainwright and Ryan Franklin combined on a three-hit shutout as the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the Houston Astros 1-0.

Albert Pujols drove in the game's lone run with an RBI double in the bottom of the first.

Wainwright allowed three hits over eight innings to become the first 15-game winner in the National League as he improves to 15 and 7.

Franklin picked up his 33rd save of the year as the Cardinals have won three in a row and extended their lead in the NL Central to nine games over Chicago.

Wandy Rodriguez took the loss for Houston, falling to 12 and 8 despite giving up just one run on three hits in seven innings of work.
