(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Skylar Diggins, who took South Bend Washington to the state finals four straight years and was named Indiana’s 2009 Miss Basketball, was awarded as the Gatorade Female Top Prep Athlete Wednesday in Los Angeles.
As a senior, Diggins led the 26-1 Panthers to the class 4A state title game where they fell to unbeaten Indianapolis Ben Davis.
Skylar, who graduated with a 3.91 grade-point-average, tallied 29 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals a game.
