(CINCINNATI, OH) - Rookie Will Venable had four hits, including a three-run homer, to lead the San Diego Padres past the Cincinnati Reds 7-4.

Venable, the son of former reds outfielder Max Venable, drove in four runs to back the pitching of Tim Stauffer.

Stauffer allowed a run on seven hits over seven innings to pick up his first win of the season.

Adam Rosales hit a three-run homer for Cincinnati in the bottom of the ninth as the reds lost the final three games of the four-game series with the last-place Padres.
