Last updated on Wednesday, July 8, 2009

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - The Cincinnati Reds recovered from the most lopsided defeat in franchise history by recording a come-from-behind 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Phillies took a 3-0 lead on solo home runs by Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth in the second and an RBI double by Chase Utley in the third.

Brandon Phillips got Cincinnati back in the game with a two-run homer in the fourth and a solo shot in the fifth.

Joey Votto led off the ninth inning with a double and scored the winning run on a single by Ramon Hernandez.

The win came after Philadelphia thumped the Reds 22-1 on Monday night.
