Phillies Overpower Cardinals 9-2

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - The Philadelphia Phillies used four home runs to overpower the St. Louis Cardinals 9-2.

Ryan Howard hit a two-run homer and drove in three while Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Raul Ibanez also slammed two-run shots.

Joe Blanton pitched eight innings, allowing both St. Louis runs on seven hits to improve to 7 and 4.

Mark Derosa hit a solo home run for the Cardinals, who dropped the final two games in the three-game series.
