(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers split a doubleheader with the Tigers winning the opener 5-4 and the Sox taking the nightcap 6-1.
Brandon Inge drove home the winning run in game one with an RBI single in the ninth.
Inge finished with two runs batted in for Detroit while Jermaine Dye hit a two-run homer and Paul Konerko had a solo shot for Chicago.
In game two, Jose Contreras allowed one hit over eight shutout innings to get his first win of the season, improving to 1-5.
Jim Thome hit a two-run homer and drove in three with Alexei Ramirez and Scott Podsednik adding solo shots for the Sox.
Marcus Thames hit a solo homer off Matt Thornton in the ninth for Detroit's lone run.
