(FORT WORTH, TX) - Dan Wheldon was the fastest in the IndyCar series’ first practice at Texas Motor Speedway Thursday.
Wheldon, who finished second in last month's Indianapolis 500, topped the charts with a lap of 215.7 miles an hour in preparation for Saturday night's Bombardier Learjet 550.
Danica Patrick was second fastest during the session.
Drivers will have another hour of practice this afternoon before qualifying this evening.
