Tigers Knock Off White Sox Behind Verlander's Strong Performance

(CHICAGO, IL) - Justin Verlander outdueled John Danks as the Detroit Tigers edged the Chicago White Sox 2-1.

Verlander threw a complete-game six-hitter, walking one while striking out nine to win his seventh-straight decision and improve to 7-2.

Adam Everett put Detroit on the board in the sixth with his second home run on the season and Ryan Raburn drove home the Tigers' second run when he drew a bases-loaded walk from Danks in the seventh.

Jim Thome hit a solo homer in the seventh for the Sox' lone run.

Danks went seven and-a-third, allowing two runs on five hits to fall to 4-5.
