(DETROIT, MI) - The Detroit Tigers ran their winning streak to six games as they defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-3.
Miguel Cabrera hit a solo homer in the fourth and gave the tigers an insurance run with a bases-loaded walk in the eighth.
Gerald Laird also hit a solo shot for Detroit.
Geovany Soto hit a solo home run for the cubs with Mike Fontenot and Indianapolis native Jake Fox driving home Chicago's other runs.
The cubs have lost three in a row.
