Rockies Sweep Cardinals For First Time Ever In St. Louis

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Colorado Rockies completed their first-ever series sweep in St. Louis with a 5-2 win over the Cardinals.

Former Redbird Jason Marquis became the first eight-game winner in the Natonal League, allowing two runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings to improve to 8-4.

Clint Barmes drove in a pair of runs while Troy Tulowitzki hit his sixth home run of the season as the Rockies won their season-high fifth game in a row.

Brendan Ryan scored the first St. Louis run on a wild pitch and drove in the other with an RBI single as the Cardinals have lost a season-high four games in a row.
