Reds 7-2 Over The Braves

Last updated on Wednesday, June 17, 2009

(CINCINNATI) - The Cincinnati Reds snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-2 win over the Atlanta Braves at a soggy great American Ball Park.

Aaron Harang started for Cincinnati but was gone after a one hour, 54-minute rain delay.

The rain also knocked out Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens, who took the loss.

Laynce Nix went 3 for 5 with three runs batted in with Alex Gonzalez adding a two-run double.

Left-hander Daniel Ray Herrera picked up his first Major League victory after pitching three shutout innings in relief of Harang.

The Braves have lost three games in a row.
