PGA's Chris Smith In Shock After Death Of Wife

(ANGOLA, IN) - PGA Tour golfer Chris Smith says he and his family are in shock after a traffic accident on Sunday that killed his wife and critically injured his two children.

Smith, a native of Peru, Indiana, released a statement Tuesday through the PGA Tour saying he appreciated the outpouring of support he and his family have received.

Beth Smith was killed when the SUV she was a passenger in crossed the median on I-69 near Angola and slammed into a bus carrying a Canadian football team.

Sixteen-year-old Abigail smith, who was driving the SUV, and twelve-year-old Cameron Smith were listed in critical condition Monday at a Fort Wayne hospital.

No further information on the children's conditions have been released due to privacy laws.
