(LOUDEN, NH) - Rookie Joey Logano became the youngest winner in NASCAR Sprint Cup history as he was the victor of Sunday's rain-shortened Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
South bend's Ryan Newman held the lead as rain appeared imminent but ran out of fuel minutes before the yellow came out due to precipitation.
Logano was also short on fuel but managed to stay in front until the race was red-flagged 28 laps short of the scheduled 301-lap distance.
Jeff Gordon finished second with Kurt Busch, David Reutimann and Tony Stewart rounding out the top five.
Stewart's points lead over Gordon Falls to 69 with third-place Jimmie Johnson 169 points back.
At 19-years and 36-days of age, Logano breaks Kyle Busch's record for the youngest winner in cup history.
