(CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Bobcats decided not to make a one-year qualifying offer to forward Sean May, making may an unrestricted free agent.

May, a Bloomington native and Indiana's Mister Basketball in 2002, has played in just 82 of a possible 328 games since being taken 13th overall by the Bobcats in the 2005 NBA draft.

May has been plagued by knee problems that eventually required micro fracture surgery during his pro career.

He has also been hampered by weight problems that led Bobcats coach Larry Brown to refuse to play may for long stretches last season.
