White Sox Flex Muscle In Drubbing Of Angles

(ANAHEIM, CA) - Jim Thome and Jermaine Dye hit three-run homers and drove in four runs apiece as the Chicago White Sox pounded the Los Angeles Angels 17-3.

Thome's third-inning shot off Angels reliever Rafael Rodriguez was the 549th of his career, surpassing Hall-of-Famer Mike Schmidt for 13th place on the all-time home run list.

John Danks was the beneficiary of Chicago's 24-hit effort.

Danks allowed three runs on four hits over six innings to improve to 4-3.

Los Angeles starter Ervin Santana gave up seven runs on nine hits in an inning-plus to fall to 0-2.
