Last updated on Monday, May 18, 2009

(SAN DIEGO) - Jake Peavy threw a four-hitter as the San Diego Padres got past the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 to complete a three-game series sweep.

The Padres jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles from Kevin Kouzmanoff and Jody Gerut.

Cincinnati drew within a run in the sixth when Chris Dickerson hit a solo homer, his second of the year.

Kouzmanoff would give San Diego an insurance run with a solo shot in the eighth.

Peavy improves to 3-5.

Bronson Arroyo allowed three runs over seven-plus innings to take the loss, falling to 5-3.
