Gallardo Out Duels Carpenter In Brewers Win

Last updated on Tuesday, May 26, 2009

(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Bill Hall’s RBI single with two out in the bottom of the tenth gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Hall had been mired in a 1-for-28 slump when he delivered his game-winner off Cardinals reliever Kyle McClellan.

Both starters were dominant.

Milwaukee's Yovani Gallardo allowed two hits over eight innings, striking out six while walking four.

St. Louis' Chris Carpenter also allowed just two hits over eight innings, striking out ten while walking none.

Carpenter still has not allowed an earned run this season.

With the win, the Brewers snap a three-game losing streak.
