Cardinals Overcome Reds 5 Home Runs, Win 8-7

(CINCINNATI) - Colby Rasmus hit an RBI double in the top of the tenth inning to give the St. Louis cardinals an 8-7 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cardinals had a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the ninth when Jerry Hairston Jr. and pinch-hitter Micah Owings hit solo home runs off St. Louis closer Ryan Franklin to tie it.

Chris Duncan drove in three runs for the Redbirds and Albert Pujols hit a solo homer, his twelfth of the season, as St. Louis avoided being swept in the three-game series.

Jay Bruce, Adam Rosales and Joey Votto also went deep for Cincinnati.
