Yankees Christen New Stadium With Huge Loss To Cleveland, 10-2

(NEW YORK, NY) - The Cleveland Indians proved to be ungrateful guests as they christened the new Yankee Stadium with a 10-2 victory over the host New York Yankees.

The Indians broke the game open in the seventh, scoring nine times in the inning. Johnny Peralta's two-run double broke a 1-1 tie.

Grady Sizemore would hit a grand slam and Victor Martinez added a solo shot in the big inning.

Jorge Posada hit a solo shot for New York in the fifth off Cleveland starter Cliff Lee, the first home run in the new ballpark. Lee allowed a run on seven hits over six innings to pick up his first win of the season.

The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner improves to 1-2.
