(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Cincinnati Reds host the New York Mets in their regular season-opener this afternoon at Great American Ball Park.

The Mets are trying to recover from their second-straight September collapse last season as they lost their division lead to the eventual World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies and failed to make the playoffs.

The Reds have not sniffed a playoff race in years as they are coming off their eighth-consecutive losing campaign in 2008.

Aaron Harang gets the start for Cincinnati while New York will go with Johan Santana.
