(INDIANAPOLIS) - TJ Ford hit a mid-range fade-away jumper with 3.9 seconds remaining to give the Indiana Pacers a 107-105 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Danny Granger led Indiana with 31 points with Ford finishing with 22 points and nine assists as the Pacers got a much-needed win to get to within 3.5 games of the Bulls for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff berth.
Rookie of the Year candidate Derrick Rose led Chicago with 24 points and eleven rebounds with Kirk Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas adding 20 points apiece.
The Pacers improve to 32-43.
They wrap up their three-game homestand on Friday night when the San Antonio Spurs come to Conseco Fieldhouse.
Troy Murphy returned to the starting lineup for the Pacers on Tuesday night. Murphy had missed three games with a sprained MCL in his left knee. He responded with a double-double of 15 points and twelve rebounds.
While Murphy was back, Jeff Foster spent his night on the bench in street clothes due to a foot injury suffered in Sunday night's win over Washington. The Bulls were also shorthanded as John Salmons missed last night's game.
Salmons, Chicago's second-leading scorer at almost 19 points per game, sat with a groin injury.
