IndyCar Kicks Off In St. Petersburg Saturday Afternoon

(ST. PETERSBURG, FL) - The IndyCar Series season gets underway this weekend with Sunday afternoon’s Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

The cars will take to the 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary street course twice today for practice. Qualifying scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Newman-Haas-Lanigan Racing's Graham Rahal was the winner of last year's race in St. Pete.

Target-Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon is attempting to defend his 2008 IndyCar Series championship.
