(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals are at Busch Stadium this afternoon as they open the 2009 regular season against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Cardinals finished 11.5 games off the pace last season as they came in fourth in the National League Central.
The Pirates were dead last in the Central last year, finishing with a 67-95 record.
Adam Wainwright goes to the mound for St. Louis this afternoon while Paul Maholm starts for Pittsburgh.
