After Playoff Elimination By Hawks, Pacers Still Beat Detroit, Host Cavs Tonight

Last updated on Monday, April 13, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers are winding down their season as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers this evening at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Pacers were eliminated from playoff contention with a loss in Atlanta on Friday night and will miss the postseason for a third-consecutive year.

Indiana followed up its elimination by beating a Detroit Pistons team on Saturday night that is fighting with Chicago for the number-seven seed in the east, which would mean avoiding the front-running Cavaliers in the first round.

Cleveland has already wrapped-up the number-one seed in the Eastern Conference but still need one more victory to lock up the best record in the NBA and gain home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
